Glennis Maxine Burkhammer

Glennis Maxine Burkhammer, 100, of Troy, WV passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025 at her daughter Judy's home in Clarksburg. She was born in De Kalb, WV on May 9, 1925 daughter of the late Ralph Danley and Theresa (Wells) Danley. Maxine was united in marriage on January 11, 1946 to Delmar Burkhammer, who preceded her in death on September 11, 1990.

Maxine is survived by her daughter, Judy Matthews and husband, Rymer of Clarksburg, foster daughter, Gatha Lough Wilson of Troy, two grandchildren, Kelli Eddy Peacemaker and David Matthews, two foster grandchildren, Blaine Wilson and Andrea Whitehair, three great grandchildren, Danielle and Emily Eddy, and Anevay Peacemaker, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Delmar, Maxine was preceded in death by a brother, Darris Danley, and two sisters, Gladis Danley and Emogean Huffman.

Maxine had retired from Glenville State College working as a janitor in the Environmental Services Department. She was a member of the Troy United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, camping, working around the house, and in her garden.

Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home, 730 N. Main Avenue of Weston, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating.
