Martha Ann Burkhammer

Martha Ann (Brinkley) Burkhammer, 94, of Zionsville passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Zionsville Meadows.
She was born in Weston, West Virginia on June 16, 1931, a daughter of the late Allman and Bertha (Post) Brinkley. Martha graduated from Weston High School in 1949. She married the love of her life, Eugene W. Burkhammer on May 28, 1949. They spent 57 years together before his passing in 2006.
Martha was a member of Zionsville United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Whitestown 248, and a past president of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority in Zionsville. She spent most of her working life as a receptionist in Zionsville for Dr. L.S. Bailey, MD and later, for Dr. Jack Walters, MD.
Survivors include her children: Stephen (Mary) Burkhammer, Mark (Leslie) Burkhammer and Eric (Kay) Burkhammer; grandchildren: Megan (GJ), Mackenzie (Matt), Shanon, Casey (James), Robert (Rebecca) and Brian (Stephanie); great grandchildren: Brinkley, George, Judson, Barret, Shelby, Victoria, Devon, Jasmine, Krista, James and Bradley; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, parents, brother: Robert Brinkley; and sister: Mary Sloan.
Friends and family will gather for visitation on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 11am until the time of her funeral service at 1pm at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care, 125 W. Sycamore St. Zionsville, IN 46077. She will be laid to rest at Zionsville Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Zionsville United Methodist Church, 9644 Whitestown Rd. Zionsville, IN 46077.
