Gloria Burkhart, a beloved and cherished member of her community, passed away on February 17, 2026, at Pikeville Medical Center. Born on February 10, 1957, in Harlan County, Kentucky, Gloria was a dedicated caregiver whose friendly and outgoing personality touched the lives of many during her time as a Nursing Assistant at Hyden Manor.
She pursued her education and earned her GED, demonstrating her commitment to personal growth and development. Throughout her career, Gloria was known for her compassionate care and unwavering support for her patients, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the families she served.
Above all else, Gloria was a devoted family woman who treasured spending time with her loved ones. She is survived by her husband, Charles Dixon, and two children: son, Travis Ward and daughter, Carissa Johnson (Donnie). Gloria also delighted in being a grandmother to three grandchildren, bringing joy and laughter into their lives.
Gloria's legacy will continue to shine through her brothers, Gary Burkhart and David Burkhart, and her sister, Glenna Napier, who will remember her with love and fond memories.
Gloria was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Burkhart, and her sister, Deana Burkhart, as well as her grandmother, Georgia Burkhart. Each of these family members held a special place in her heart, and their memories remain a cherished part of her story.
As we remember Gloria Burkhart, we celebrate a life filled with love, devotion, and kindness. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
