Gloria Linda Castillo Gassett, 69, of Meigs, GA, passed away on Wednesday - January 22, 2025 at her residence. Funeral Services will be held at Faith Horizon Ministries on Saturday - January 25, 2025 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Christopher officiating. Interment will follow at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Pelham, GA. Visitation will be held at Whiddon Shiver Funeral Home on Friday - January 24th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the funeral home Chapel. Linda was born on March 9, 1955 in Harlingen, TX to the late Ricardo Castillo and Guadalupe Solis Shiver. She married Alton Gassett on March 11, 2023 who survives in Meigs, GA. She worked as a Teacher for Thomas County Central High School and was a member of Faith Horizon Ministries. She enjoyed working in her garden and landscaping. But most of all, she loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family. She will always be remembered by those who loved and knew her. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Ricky Layfield (Debi) of Tifton, GA, and Roderick Suber (Amanda) of Thomasville, GA, grandchildren, Dillon Suber, Faith Toribio, Serenity Suber, Blake Layfield, and Jayden Layfield, siblings, Gracie Silvas, of Okeechobee, FL, Richard Castillo of Cairo, GA, Ray Castillo of Alabama, Ester Thornton of Thomasville, GA, Carol Daughtry of Pelham, GA, Sylvia Eidson of Pelham, GA, Lupe Castillo Meade of Hinsonton, GA, and Yolanda Rhoden of Ft. Valley, GA, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; siblings, Hilda Harvard, Johnny Castillo, Vickie Castillo, Elodia Garcia, and Casme Castillo.
