Gloria Berry Dickerson of Fort Pierce, Florida was born April 23rd 1944 in Fort Pierce, Florida to the late Jacob H. Berry, Sr. and Deaconess Ruby Simmons Berry. On August 9, 2025 at approximately 6:00 p.m. Sister Dickerson transitioned peacefully from earth to eternal life.

Sister Dickerson grew up in Fort Pierce where she also obtained her early education at Lincoln Park Academy. She then obtained her bachelor degree in the area of education at Bethune Cookman College in 1966. After marriage to her devoted husband, the late John Dickerson, Jr. she furthered her educational career by obtaining her Masters, then a PhD. in education at Nova Southeastern University. Her love for teaching resulted in her working in the Miami Dade and St. Lucie Counties school system for forty years, retiring in 2015.

Sister Dickerson was preceded in death by many loved ones: her parents: Jacob H. Berry, Sr., Ruby Simmons Berry, her devoted husband: John Dickerson, Jr., two sisters Bernice Berry Sanders and Celestine Berry Roundtree.

She leaves to cherish her memories; son: Keith R. Dickerson; goddaughter: Onekkia Chester Wilson; Sister Maxine Hilleay; step sons: Harold Dickerson, Keith Boykin and step daughter: Lori Dickerson (Newberry); grandson: Joseph Newberry; brothers: Pastor John H. Berry and wife, Pastor Darlyn Berry, Elder Jacob H. Berry Jr.and Mother Betty S. Berry, Hubert Jackson, Jeffrey Wynn and a host of other relatives and friends.
