Gloria Jean Dunlap

Gloria Jean Dunlap entered into God's Kingdom on Friday, September 26, 2025 after a long and brave battle with cancer. Gloria was born on March 15, 1952, in Arkansas. In 1969, she moved to Kansas City, where she began her life*s journey filled with love, family, and service to others. She was the daughter of the late Louis Charles "LC" Dunlap and Pauline Dunlap. Gloria was the oldest girl of ten siblings. She is preceded in death by her parents and four siblings: Delois Ann "Pepsi", Melvin, Barbra Ann "Lizzy", and Bobby Dean. She is survived by her siblings Calvin, Earlene, Luella, Arthur, and Otha. Gloria was a loving mother to three children: Lawonda Smith (Lewis), the late Robyn Brooks, and Melvin "Doc" Dunlap (Robyn). She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Ry'Qail, Christopher II, Ry'Niece, Ralph II, Melvin Jr., Robert Cylis, and Mykah. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Ry'Nell, Royce, Cataleya Robyn, and Sebastian. In addition, Gloria leaves behind family and friends that were very special to her "Aunt Verline Reid", Aunt Laurene Franklin and Aunt Mary Adams, Uncle Ike "Bub" Dunlap, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews too numerous to name. They were forever in her heart, and she will remain forever in theirs. Gloria was a true caregiver. Anywhere she was needed, you could find her, offering her love and support. She deeply loved her family, and you couldn't help but love her back. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of love and care will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and everyone whose lives she touched.
