Gloria Jean Jones

Mrs. Gloria Jean Windom Jones, age 86, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025. Born on October 2, 1938, she was the daughter of the late H.O. Windom and Chloe Robinson Windom.
A proud 1956 graduate of Mt. Zion High School, Gloria devoted her life to her family and her community. She was a loving wife, a nurturing mother, and a proud grandmother whose home was always filled with warmth and laughter. A true matriarch, she created a strong and loving foundation for her family to grow upon.
Gloria was a faithful homemaker and spent over two decades as a substitute teacher at Carrollton Elementary School, where she was affectionately known and loved by countless students and staff. Her passion for education and her deep affection for the Carrollton City School System remained with her throughout her life.
Fondly known as the "yard sale queen," Gloria had a knack for finding hidden treasures and sharing her joy with others. She found happiness in tending to her flowers, feeling the sun on her face during beach trips, and simply spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her five siblings and her beloved grandson, Jason Jones.
She is survived by her devoted husband of many years, W. Carl Jones; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Michael Banister, and Sherri and Bobby Reid; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Anita Jones, Alan and Tina Jones, and Jeff and Nicole Jones; 14 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable pride and joy.
A private family graveside service was held in Eureka Church Cemetery to honor and celebrate Gloria's beautiful life and legacy.
