Gloria Jean McCarthy

Gloria J. McCarthy, 76, of Appleton, WI, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family after a short illness. 

Gloria was born on March 23, 1948, in Neenah, WI to Victor and Eleanor Porath. 

She married the love of her life, Patrick McCarthy, on September 24, 1966, and together they were blessed with two daughters. 

Gloria worked at the Banta Corporation, Electronic Assembly, Shopko and later at Best Buy, but her true calling was being a loving wife to Patrick and mother to Sherry and Cindy 

She cherished family camping trips, traveling to Las Vegas and taking cruises with Patrick. Gloria loved nature, birdwatching (hummingbirds were her favorite) and crocheting. 

Gloria is survived by her husband, her daughters Sherry (Jim) Miller, Cindy (Tony) Densmore, 3 grandchildren, sister Vicki (Dewey) Meyers, and nine nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Barbara. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Rennes and extend a special thank you to Crystal, Ashley and Leah from Compassus. 

Visitation for Gloria will take place at Wichmann Funeral Home (537 N. Superior St. Appleton, WI 54911) on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm.
