Gloria Ann Moats of Lebanon, Missouri, passed away in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehab on Sunday, July 2, 2023. At the time of her passing she was eighty-two years, one month and five days old.
She was born May 28, 1941 in Huntington Beach, California to Jules Sennce and Ruth Ann Ogle. She spent her early years in Orange County, California where she met and married her husband, Charles E. Moats, Sr. They were married right after graduating high school in Hawaii and shared forty-four years of marriage until Charles passed on June 21, 2004. They lovingly raised their three children as they lived in several different parts of the country during their marriage.
After their wedding, they moved to Ohio and made their home there for a few years. They then moved back to California, then went to Oregon and lived ten years there. They also farmed in Arkansas and Missouri and eventually settled in Lebanon.
Gloria was a professional cleaner and also had a hobby farm. She enjoyed taking care of the chickens and any other animals on the farm. She had also volunteered as a home health caregiver. Her life rotated around her family and she attended Oak Grove Baptist Church and Community Baptist Church while living in Lebanon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her sister, Barbara Reed; her grandson, Kyle Gangi.
Gloria is survived by her daughters, Julie Haggith and her husband, Mark of Lebanon, Missouri and Charlene Richards and her husband, Jamie of Mansfield, Ohio; her son, Chuck Moats, Jr. of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Gladys Trotter of Arizona and Mary Robito of Oregon; five grandchildren, Candice, Heather, Shyla, Aaron and Joshua; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Gloria was a loving and caring woman and loved her family very much. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Graveside service for Gloria Moats will be Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Atchley Blackfoot Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, July 5, 2023, from 5 - 6:30 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon.
