With heavy hearts and deep love, we celebrate the life of Gloria Faye Morris, who passed peacefully at the age of 79. A beloved resident of Athens, Texas, Gloria was the epitome of kindness, strength, and unwavering faith. She lived her life with a radiant spirit, touching the hearts of everyone she met.
Gloria found joy in life's simplest pleasures-cheering on her favorite wrestler, Drew McIntyre, on WWE SmackDown, sitting on her front porch watching the birds and squirrels as the world went by, and indulging in her favoirte iced coffee, Dr. Peppers, and popcorn. She cherished every gift she received, holding onto them as dearly as she did the people who made her life special. She treasured every gift, not for its value, but for the love and memories it carried.
Above all, Gloria's heart was devoted to Jesus. Those who knew her could see the depth of her faith in the way she sang, danced, and praised the Lord while watching TBN, sometimes moved to tears. She often said that when she reached heaven, she would go straight to Jesus to brush her hair across His feet-a beautiful reflection of her devotion.
Gloria was a fighter, enduring hardships with grace and an unshakable love for her family. No matter the struggles, she kept her head high and pushed forward, ensuring those she loved were cared for. She had six children, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren-each blessed to have known her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love.
She was preceded in death by her parents Woodrow Luce and Vivian Hudgins, her sons Richard, Wayne, and James Morris, her daughter Patricia Morris, and her soulmate, Bill Mick. She is survived by her daughter Wanda Morris of Hemet, CA, her son Marvin Morris of Texas, her sister Goldie Disotell of Athens, TX, her grandsons Robert, Michael, Fernando, Carlos, Raymond, Mario, Richard and countless great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
