Gloria J. Staie

OGDENSBURG-Funeral services for Gloria Jean (Bogart) Staie, 83, of Ogdensburg, NY, will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. A visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery on Wednesday October 8th, 2025 at 10 a.m. Mrs. Staie passed away on Monday morning, September 29, 2025 at her home, surrounded by family and under the care of Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.

Arrangements are under the direction of Frary Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Ogdensburg.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Robert Staie of Ogdensburg, NY; her children, Robert A. Staie and his wife, Mary, of Rochester, NY, David B. Staie and his wife, Marie, of South Carolina, and John C. Staie of South Colton, NY; a sister, Karen Fifield and her husband, Carl, of Ogdensburg, NY; brothers, Michael Lorne Bogart and his wife, Judy, of Morristown, NY, and Gordon Bogart and his wife, Jeannie, of Ogdensburg, NY. Eight grandchildren; Brandon Staie, Jared Staie, Christopher Staie, Eva VanEpps, Miranda Morales, Sarah Staie, Nicole Robbins and Brittney Staie along with 15 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gloria is predeceased by her parents, Nelson and Margaret Bogart and her siblings, David Bogart, Nelson Bogart, Elaine Lalonde, and Sidney Bogart.

Gloria was born on October 6, 1941, in Ogdensburg, NY, the daughter of the late Nelson H. and Margaret Elizabeth (Denny) Bogart. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1959. Gloria married Robert C. Staie on August 13 1960, at the First Methodist Church in Ogdensburg, NY, with Rev. Willard J. Barber officiating. Gloria entered the workforce working for ACCO International Brands in Ogdensburg, later working for St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center as a rehab assistant, where she enjoyed her work, especially bringing clients outdoors for recreational activities. Gloria cherished her time at home raising her children and grandchildren, it was her greatest joy. She love to work the "Chicken and Biscuit" dinners at the United Methodist church, going camping and going on Disney Crusies with Robert.
