Goble William "Mac" Floyd of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on June 20, 2025. Born in Evansville, Indiana on November 5, 1950, he graduated from Newburgh's Castle High School in 1968. He attended Rose Polytechnic Institute and the University of Evansville. Goble married Jacqueline McNatton Floyd in 1972. He was particularly proud of his two children and adorable grandson.
In 1974, Goble began his career with Eastman Kodak as an equipment repairman before advancing into x-ray film sales and medical health imaging management. His career transferred the family from Evansville to St. Louis, Iowa City, Indianapolis, and Cincinnati. After leaving Kodak in 1999, he worked for several x-ray and imaging-related companies, before starting his own company in 2011. He retired to Bonita Springs, Florida with his wife in 2014. In anticipation of the arrival of their first and only grandchild, they relocated to Louisville in 2020.
His personal and business travels took him to four continents and all fifty states. He was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the St. Louis Cardinals. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing and golfing. Cooking and grilling were personal passions with homemade ice cream, home-baked breads, and barbecue ribs some of his standout dishes. As an amateur handyman, he was constantly on the brink of starting or finishing some complicated DIY project.
In addition to his wife Jackie, he is survived by his daughter Sarah Floyd (James) Childs of Indianapolis, son Evan Goble (Katie) Floyd and grandson Luka Goble Floyd of Louisville. He is also survived by his sisters Elizabeth Jane Cerullo, Dana Sue (John) Mattingly, and brother Mark Wayne (Diane) Floyd. He valued long-time relationships with his sisters-in-law Deborah (Thomas) Kempf, Bobbie Jarvis, and Nancy McNatton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Goble William Floyd II and Billie Jane Kight Floyd, his brother-in-law Rory McNatton and sister-in-law Sue McNatton. His life was blessed with the following nieces and nephews: Stephanie Brown, Ronald Shekell, Amanda (Roy) Burkins, Kristi (Brian) Treski, Jeremy (Nicole) Mattingly, Emily (John) Whyman, Chris (Gloria) French, Bryan French, Alex (Robert) Jarvis, Mandy Parsley, Jennifer (Jason) Mayer, Jessica McCarty, and Aubrey Witherspoon as well as twenty-five great nieces and nephews. He is mourned by his many relatives and friends across the country.
Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 (CST) on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Avenue, Evansville, Indiana followed by a Celebration of Life at 3pm.
