Gordon Baun

Gordon Allen Baun passed away with dignity on July 9, 2023 at the age of 87. Gordon was born in Leask, Saskatchewan on Jan 11, 1936, the son of Mary Pampu and Fred Baun. Gordon moved to Stratford with his parents when he was 4, and made Stratford his home.
Gordon proudly enjoyed a 35 year career with the DHO (now MTO), beginning in Stratford and ending in London. Gordon was a great sports enthusiast, enjoying basketball, rugby, swimming and golf the most. Gordon loved sports cars, oil painting, music, family and good friends. Gordon is survived by his loving wife Fern (Culbert) whom he married May 31, 1957 in Goderich. Gordon was the proud fatherof his son Mark (Mary-Anne) of Bath, his daughter Kismet of Stratford and sister Susan McLeod (Leighton), cousin Bobby Baun (Sallie) of Pickering, Grandson Mike cole of Kingston, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many relatives in Western Canada and by special friends Sam McGregor, Harry Thomas and Bill Strawbridge. Gordon was proud to have worked as a Rigger on the origional Stratford tent in 1954 (William Patterson's dream). Gordon was a member of the Stratford Perth Regiment Reserves, Stratford Country Club, Mitchell Golf Club and Willowbrook Golf Course in Winter Haven Florida, where he enjoyed many winters with his wife Fern. Gordon will be remembered for his honesty, sense of humor and kindness.
Gordon will rest at Avondale United Church, 194 Avondale Avenue, Stratford on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 where visitation will take place from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. (which will be livestream through the following link provided: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixeLMw94dhM ) with a reception following.
