CORDELE - Grace Lynn Dellinger, 87, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday morning, February 18, 2025.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025, in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery.
Born in Hortense, Georgia, Grace was the daughter of Edward Lynn and Annie Laura Parrot Lynn. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brothers, Davis Lynn and Billy Walker.
Grace worked as a cook in the dietary department at Cordele Health & Rehab. She enjoyed watching classic television, particularly westerns and The Waltons. A devoted Christian and lifelong Baptist, she cherished reading her Bible and prayed for the salvation of her family. She also had a deep love for cats.
Mrs. Dellinger leaves behind her children: Laura Carroll of Cordele, Betty Lynch and her husband Kenny of Cordele, Georgia, Patricia Carroll and her fiancé Greg Platt of Rochelle, Georgia, Fate Carroll and his wife Wanda of Uvalda, Georgia, Mary Dixon and her husband Will Herndon of Lyons, Georgia, and Marilyn Heard and her husband Mark of St. Augustine, Florida.
She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren: Misty (Jason) Harwell, Angela Carroll, Mandy (Jay) Sudduth, Victoria Mills, Ginny (Jr.) Tejeda, Amy Black, Chris Carroll, Heather Rozier, Will Herndon, Tiffany Herndon, Casey (Kevin) Stumbaugh, Fate (Jamie) Carroll, Jr., Anthony (Brittany) Thornton, Ashley (Robert) Buchner, Stephanie (Michael) Walker, and Alan (Anna) Thornton. Additionally, she will be dearly missed by her 34 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and her beloved "fur baby," Baby Lynn.
The family also wishes to acknowledge the love and care by Stephanie Hutchens and Woodvale as a whole towards Grace.
