Grace Lavern "Vern" Eubanks, age 65, passed away peacefully at her home in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on Sunday, August 10, 2025. She was born on March 14, 1960, in Paris, Arkansas, to Dorothy Lee (Byrd) Thomas and Robert Virgil Thomas.

Grace worked for many years as a cook at Fort Chaffee, where she was known for her dedication and hard work. On May 24, 2003, she married the love of her life, Calvin Odell Eubanks, and together they shared many cherished years. Grace was know for her massive perfume collection and she was a "scratch off queen." She always had her nails perfectly done, a small but special detail her family will forever remember. Above all, she will be remembered for her heart of gold and her devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Calvin O. Eubanks; her mother, Dorothy Thomas; her children, Kashia, Desiree, and Zion; eight grandchildren, Kamira, Kyren, Kiyara, Kinley, Kazhi, Kaiden, Kennedi, and Zuri; five beloved sisters and one brother; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Grace was preceded in death by her father, Robert V. Thomas, and her sons, Michael Jr., Garrell, Calvin Jr., and Calvin Davante.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Northside Church of God in Christ, 4420 Kelley Hwy, Fort Smith, Arkansas. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with interment at Roselawn Cemetery. Pastor Greg Canady will officiate. Pallbearers will be James C., Chris, Eddie, Eric, Tank, and James W. Services are under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
