Grace Elizabeth Hansen, "Gracie," passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Boston Children's Hospital (BCH) in Boston, Massachusetts. Grace was born Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, and had been diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and pulmonary stenosis in utero around 20 weeks gestation at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. She had open heart surgery at 5 days old to reconstruct her heart and repair the pulmonary stenosis, and another catheter procedure at 14 days old, but ultimately her heart couldn't adequately pump blood and oxygen to her body and lungs.

Grace was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Victor and Leona Evans. She leaves behind her parents, Jared and Rebekah Hansen; older brother Maxwell; paternal grandparents, Gregory and Elaine Hansen; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Our sweet Grace had a strong, fighting spirit and spent many days with her family in the cardiac intensive care unit (CICU) at BCH; we cannot thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at BCH enough. Many nurses, doctors, and other hospital staff grew to love Grace and would check in on her daily and on their days off to see how she was doing. Grace loved being sung to, read to, talked to, and listening to music. She loved being swaddled and warm, and hated having her diaper changed or being uncovered, and would let you know as much. Heaven is a much sweeter place with her there, and we will miss her deeply until we see her again.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the Pioneer Park Ward, 1449 South Thoroughbred Way, Kaysville, Utah, where a viewing will take place from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. An evening viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8 at the Farmington Russon Mortuary, 1941 North Main Street, Farmington, Utah.

Services will be streamed live at http://mywebcast.churchofjesuschrist.org/kaysvilleweststake
