It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Gracie Mae Smith, beloved mother,grandmother, aunt and  cherished friend, and esteemed member of her community, who left this earthly realm on January 3, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on November 17, 1940, Gracie led a life rich in love, compassion, and joy, her spirit illuminating the hearts of all fortunate enough to cross her path.

The essence of Gracie Mae Smith will be honored and celebrated in a services that reflect the profound impact she had on her community. A visitation will take place on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Lester Lackey & Sons Funeral Home, Inc., 1163 Reynolds Street SW, Covington, GA 30014. Friends and family are invited to come together during this time to share stories and commemorate the life of a remarkable woman.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Early Hope Church Ministries, 11:00 AM,1129 Rocky Plains Road, Covington, GA 30016. Senior Pastor Kenneth L. Williams, Pastor Kenneth Norrington, Eulogist. Assisted by others. Her remains will lie instate from 9:30 AM until the hour of service. The cortege' will depart her home at 10:00 AM.  This gathering aims to reflect on the indelible mark Gracie left on her loved ones and to celebrate the joyous spirit she embodied throughout her life. The final resting location will be held at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Rd. Covington, GA 30014.

In this time of mourning, we find solace in the memories shared and the love that continues to resonate through the hearts of those who knew Gracie Mae Smith. Her legacy will forever inspire, reminding us of the beauty of life lived fully and the connections that bind us together in love and remembrance.
