Gracie Taylor passed away on June 22, 2025, at the age of 96 in
Westland, Michigan. Born on May 3, 1929, in Jackson, Kentucky, she was the cherished daughter of the late Sarah and Jesse McIntosh. Gracie's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and her dedication to her family and community.
Gracie's journey through life was shared with her beloved husband, Thomas Delbert Taylor, with whom she built a legacy of love and devotion through over 65 years of marriage. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including their children Lisa Grace (Joel) McMullen, Tina Lynette (Larry) Guenther, Thomas Dimitri Taylor, Tammi Darlene (Jeff) Crowder, and Chad Joseph (Erika) Taylor. Gracie's joy was multiplied through her many grandchildren: Austin (Jeslyn), Chad (Kristin), Samuel (fiancée Taylor), Luke, Holli (Kory), Joey, Brandon (Megan), Justin (Sarah), Elaina (Nick), Micaela, Bethany, Drew, Hannah (Buddy), Abbi (Jeremiah), Noah (Amber), Emily (Frank), Allison (Trever), Jacob, Grace, Emma, Boston, Dorothy, Penny and Chad Jr., as well as her adored great-grandchildren Crew, the late Kory, Ben, Elexes, Lilley, Henry, Arlene, Theo, Charlie, Annie, George, Ronan, Lucy, Zebadiah, Levi, Jack, Leo, Odette, and Theodora.
Gracie's siblings, Ollie Mae, Kelly Cash, French Coy, Joanne, Carlo, Dorothy Marie, Jimmie, Julia Faye, Cora Margaret, and Henley, preceded her in death, leaving behind a legacy of familial bonds that Gracie continued to nurture throughout her life.
Her relationship with her savior, Jesus Christ, was the foundation of her life since age 14. She lived her life to glorify God alone as she shared the joy and peace that comes from a life surrendered to Jesus. A lifelong learner, Gracie studied and graduated Bible College. Her passion was to know Christ through His Word. She shared her passion for Christ through her local church, Crosswalk Community Church of the Nazarene, for 65 years. Gracie served her church community with grace and humility, contributing as a member of the church board, teaching Sunday school, serving as an associate pastor, and being an ordained deacon in the Nazarene Church. Her passion for spreading joy and hope was seen in her support of Operation Christmas Child each year.
Gracie's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. She possessed a remarkable talent for needlework and sewing, and she communicated love through the language of sign language. Her interest in music was expressed through piano lessons, which she pursued with enthusiasm. Gracie's green thumb was evident in her beautifully tended gardens, where she cultivated an array of flowers, fruits, and vegetables.
Described by those who knew her as loving, kind, and faith-filled, Gracie was the epitome of a life well-lived. It gave her great joy to create a home for her husband and children. Gracie's legacy is one of unwavering love and service to others.
Gracie Taylor will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to know her, yet her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the indelible mark she has left on our hearts and the world.
