Grady Wylie Obituary
Grady Walker Wylie, age 86, of Bessemer City, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. He was born on December 22, 1936, the son of the late Tillmon and Eunice Wylie. Grady always had a smile on his face and loved playing pranks and telling jokes. His favorite season was Christmas. During his spare time, he enjoyed carp and crappie fishing. He also enjoyed working in the garden and always had tomato plants. Grady always said his prayers and thanked the Lord for his blessings and his family. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson Brian Williams; ten brothers; and two half-sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 64 years, Evelena “Tina” Warlick Wylie; daughters Peggy Wylie, Barbara Kennerly, and Shirley Blattau (Bobby); grandchildren Russell Kennerly (Macey), Robert Blattau, and Shawn Pearson (Alexis); great-grandchildren Lucas Kennerly, Mason Kennerly, and Izabella Pearson; friend and caregiver Renea Crawford; along with many other friends and family that loved him dearly.
A visitation to celebrate Grady’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home. After the service, family and friends can come and gather at Barbara Kennerly’s house.
