Georgia - Granger Norwood Vester was born to Norman and Nancy (Norwood) Vester in Springfield, Massachusetts on February 25, 1960. He passed away on March 9, 2025, after a well fought battle with cancer. His loving wife, Sara Nye Vester attended to his every need with grace and dignity in his final days, and his many devoted friends and family were by his side.
Granger died at home, the place he loved as much as the fields, woods, the mountains, and the lake and sea. Oh, and his garage! He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a hard worker, a craftsman, jack of all trades, and an honorable and trusted husband, brother, uncle, son, and friend.
He is survived by his wife Sara of 35 years, his mother, Nancy Norwood Vester, his siblings, Vaughn Vester, Heidi Silman (Joshua), Gretchen Maskell (Greg), Ric Nye, Jill Martin (Ron) his nieces and nephews Brooke Grisgraber (Fred), Benjamin Bombard (Jessica), Sadie Waskow (Alex), Sam Bombard (Holly), Eli Silman, Calypso Martin, Levi Martin, Ryan Maskell (Brandi), Kyle Maskell (Sadie), Aristotle Nye, Jordana Bronson, Lexi Aaron, as well as his cousins, Nancy, Deborah, Guy, and Jennifer Norwood, and many great nieces and nephews.
Granger was predeceased by his fathers, Norman Rohde Vester Jr., and Eric Nye, Sr., and his brother, Norman Rohde Vester III (Rohde), and his mother-in-law, Pauline Cline Nye.
Our family would like to recognize and thank Granger's tireless friends who enriched his life and helped him make a peaceful transition to heaven. Tim, Lynne and Granger, Bernie and Noreen, John and Nancy, John and Betty, Paul and Lonnie, Dian and Ken, Don and Kim, Mary and Chip, Tyler and Jamie, Kim and Ezra, John and Sally, Jeff and Nancy, Rick and Linda, Malcolm and Sue, Keith, Bob, Ralph and Gary and Maureen. Their constant and continued support will always be cherished.
Additional thanks go to the Doctors and Nurses of the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Sophia and the nurses of the Visiting Nurses Association, Pastor Dan and Pastor Tyler.
A celebration of his life will be announced this spring.
Granger's family asks that memorials in his name be made to Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice of Southwestern Region; 8 North Main Street, St. Albans, VT 05478, OR Age Well; 228 North Main Street, St. Albans, VT 05478.

Sara what a wonderful man you fell in love with and married. Ron and I are so sad at your devastating loss. The long list of Granger's family and friends is a testament to the kind of man he was. May you find solace in the memories of his love and devotion.
Love always, Jill and Ron
