Gregorio Montoya Bautista, 52, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025 from a heart attack at his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Gregorio was born December 21, 1972 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the son of Gregorio Montoya and Graciela Bautista.
Greg has lived in Blackfoot, Shelley and Idaho Falls, Idaho. He attended Blackfoot High School where he was active in the drama club. He loved acting and starred in several school plays. He later earned his GED from Idaho State University.
He was a parishioner of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Blackfoot.
Greg had numerous occupations. He worked for Kits Foundry as a welder and later went on to work for Wada Farms, Nonpareil and Idahoan, then at Pachangas as a chef. He recently started working for Idaho Falls Community Hospital. When he wasn't working, he spent some of his time volunteering at City of Refuge and also as a mentor drug counselor.
He enjoyed reading books and listening to music like Los Bukis and Metallica. Greg loved watching movies and had quite the movie collection. Some of his favorites were Rambo, Rocky, and he loved rehearsing and re-enacting scenes from them. Greg's dream was to become an actor one day and land a role in a live action movie like his idol, Sylvester Stallone.
Greg loved spending time with his family and sharing laughs with his friends.
Gregorio is survived by his children, Cruz, (Abi) Montoya, Adrianna King, Kayla Montoya, Angel Montoya and Jessica Montoya; his mother, Graciela Bautista De La Cruz; his siblings, Raquel and Maricela Montoya, Graciela Alicia and Cecelia Graciela Bautista from Idaho, and Nancy, Elena, and Alex Montoya from Texas; grandparents, Fulgencio and Anna Maria De La Cruz; and three grandchildren. Greg also had many cousins, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gregorio Montoya; his stepfather, Roque Vega; his sister, Irma Montoya; his grandparents, Heriberto and Candelaria Montoya; his aunt Esperanza Piña and his aunt Maria and uncle Clemente De La Cruz.
Goyo was loved and will be missed and he will live forever in our hearts.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2025 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 584 W. Sexton in Blackfoot. A rosary will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S.
