Gregorio Ortega Diaz , 64, passed away on September 28th, 2025, at Carlsbad Medical Center in Carlsbad New Mexico. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 3p.m. to 6p.m. at West Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will take place at 9:30 a.m.on Friday, October 3, 2025, at San Jose Catholic Church followed by a celebration of Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. also at San Jose Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery (New Section)

Gregorio Ortega Diaz was born March 12, 1961, to Epifanio Ortega & Rosa Diaz Ortega in La Boquilla, Chihuahua Mexico. He spent his life wielding a wide range of skills he applied in his as a roustabout in the oilfields. Gregorio was a loveable presence, always graced with a smile whether from enjoying the little things in life or cracking a playful joke with those around him. Gregorio never failed to remain humble and down to earth to all those he met. He spent his free time loving every moment with his family members and enjoyed traveling.

Gregorio is proceeded in death by his father, Epifanio Ortega.

His memory continues to live on in the lives of his mother, Rosa Diaz Ortega, 11 siblings, his son Edder Ortega, Diego and his wife Sasha Ortega, Rodrigo and his wife Yolisma Ortega, his daughter Leslie Ortega, son Gregorio Ortega, Jr., his grandchildren Jinelle, Yurissa, Anahi, Daniel, Santiago, Khloe, Ehylzel, Ehylany, Rodrigo Jr., Gianna, and great grandchild Lorenzo.

The pallbearers for the service will be Rodrigo Ortega, Diego Ortega, Daniel Cortez, Arturo Rodriguez, Lorenzo Ortego, Armando Ortega, Jose Ortega, and Mario Ortega.
