Joyce Marie Vest was born on July 26, 1945, to parents Jewel Sikes and Frank Anderson in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Joyce was known for being a passionate care giver, not only to her loved ones, but also to her patients she attended to during her career as a registered nurse at Carlsbad local nursing homes, Lakeview Christian Home and Landsun Assisted Living. She was described as loyal and loving to the people she held closest, as well as witty with a sharp sense of humor able to make anybody crack a smile. Joyce spent her free time enjoying peaceful activities such as crocheting, fishing and completing puzzles. She enjoyed shopping locally, finding new treasures in far-off places, finding herself especially pleased if she could find a good deal.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Nancy Harden and Linda Anderson, brother John Anderson, her two daughters Catherine Vest and Dana Asbury, as well as her son Jerry Vest.
Joyce M. Vest's memory lives on in her husband of 52 years, Stanley Vest, her dear son Gil Vest, along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even great-great grandchildren.
