Gregory Lewis Doughty

Gregory Lewis Doughty was born on June 25,1952 in Columbus, Ohio to Claudine Byrd and Lewis Doughty. He was called to rest June 15, 2024, at the age of 71 years old. He lived a very fulfilling life. He graduated from East High Schools in 1970 and later became an Air Force veteran, park ranger, and served as a Columbus Police Officer for 30 years. He enjoyed playing chess, was a sports fanatic supporting his favorite team, the Cleveland Browns, enjoyed listening to jazz music, enjoyed fishing and visiting the casino.
He was a father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was kind, intelligent, a protector, provider, and a God-fearing man with a huge heart. He was a loving person, and he expressed his love through gift giving. Additionally, he was a teacher and an outstanding leader within the family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was dedicated to being present for everyone's important moments, regardless of the circumstances. He deeply loved and cherished each and every one of us and made sure that was known. He has had such a significant impact on each of our lives that we will always remember. Even while battling with his health, he continued to demonstrate great strength. Overall, he was unquestionably a noble hero.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Claudine Byrd and Lewis Doughty; brother, Franklin Green; sister, Shirly Johnson. He leaves to cherish his legacy and loving memory to the mother of his children and good friend; Cindy Doughty; daughters, Klaniecesia Doughty, Stephanie Doughty, and Claudia (Jay) Preston; sons, Clayton Doughty and Franklin (Sarah) Doughty, Gary Doughty; grandchildren, Sarah Doughty, Charlesia Doughty, Andre Doughty, Akira Anim-Mantey, Gregory Anim-Mantey, Jania Preston, Franklin Doughty Jr, Josalynn Doughty, Neveah Doughty, Brayllin Doughty, Collin Doughty, Harlin Doughty, and Leelin Doughty; sister, Frances Harris; Special Niece, Patricia Harris; Bestfriend, Richard Cox; along with 6 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends who he loved dearly.
