Gregory "Drew" Andrew Merritt, 24, a resident of Staunton, passed away unexpectedly.

He was born on September 16, 1999, in Fishersville to Gregory Michael and Sherrie Irene Knave Merritt.

Drew was a passionate individual who enjoyed playing video games, historical studies, and trivia. He was dedicated to physical fitness, had a deep love for animals and found joy in helping his nephews with their homework. Known for his close bond with family, he will be remembered for his curiosity, kindness, and warmth.

He is survived by his parents; his sisters, Jacqueline Merritt and Angela Merritt; his grandfather, Timmy Merrbach; his nephews, Cayden Hughes and Dustin Hughes; and his special friends, Desiree Messick, Hunter Orebaugh, Logan Jenkins, Zakk Wittig, Harling Espinoza and Austin Thompson.

He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Mattie Merritt and Brenda Merbach and his brother Jonathan Merritt.

A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joey Locklear officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (199 Water Street, 11th Floor, New York, NY 10038).
