Gregory Leonard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home - El Dorado Springs on Jul. 12, 2024.
Gregory Lee Leonard was born on January 2, 1963, to Nancy Lee Corder Leonard and Cletis Wayne Leonard in El Dorado Springs, MO. Greg's childhood was spent in the Blackjack area, where his Grandma Leonard and the nearby river served as his and his brother Mike's babysitters and playground. The boys were known to spend their summers fishing, hunting, and swimming at the bluff.
Greg was united in marriage to Chris Moore of Harwood, and they welcomed their son Brandon on December 20, 1982. In 1988, Greg married Kristina Leigh Leonard, and together they had four children: Kendra, Kelly, Trenton, and Kyler.
Greg lived life at full throttle, always putting his all into everything he did, whether it was right or wrong. His dedication extended to both work and play, and he always took pride in the work he accomplished.
Greg's career took him on the road for much of his young life. He worked in the oil fields, road construction, and then drove a truck before finishing his career at Silverline Ranch. Here he spent ten years doing maintenance, mowing, working cows, and collaborating closely with Charlie Silvers. Despite the job's lack of glamour, Greg loved it. He was always the one Charlie relied on for any task. Unfortunately, health issues forced Greg to retire, but this allowed him to spend precious time with his grandchildren, discovering the joy he had been missing. The last few years of his life you could usually find him with one of his grandkids cuddled up in Papa's lap.
Greg is survived by his wife Kris Leonard; children Brandon Leonard, Kendra and Randy Ridgway, Kelly and Darren Kirby, Trenton and Nicky Leonard, and Kyler and Krista Leonard; 14 granddaughters and two grandsons. He also leaves behind his brother Mike (Marietha) Leonard, Brian (Autumn) Leonard, along with numerous aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Preceding Greg in death are Harold and Olive Corder, Thelma and Avery Leonard, Nancy and Cletis Leonard, June and Ted Brown, nephew and best friend Lofty Gibbs, and Ronnie Leonard.
Although the family mourns the loss of their beloved husband, brother, father, and papa, they find comfort knowing that Greg had found salvation through his Lord and Savior. Greg was led to Jesus by his brother Mike, who drove over 100 miles to pray with him and offer spiritual guidance.
Greg's life was a testament to hard work, love for family, and the simple joys of life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Services will be held at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, and Greg will be laid to rest at Brush Creek Cemetery.

I met Greg in High School, hit it off right from the start, were pretty much inseparable. My favorite memories with Greg was our fishing trips. I can say we very seldom came home without fish. Greg your smile and laughter and great personality will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
