Gregory M. LiCalzi, of Southbury, CT, beloved husband of Michele Castagna LiCalzi, passed peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025. He was predeceased by his first wife, Roberta (Cribari) LiCalzi.
Greg was born in the Bronx on July 3, 1935, son of the late Michael and Stella (Lahovsky) LiCalzi. He was a graduate of Tuckahoe High School and Lafayette College. Greg raised his family in Eastchester, New York, before moving to New Milford, CT, and eventually settling in Southbury, CT.
He enjoyed many hobbies, including duck carving and creating birdhouses from old Connecticut barns that were being dismantled. Greg was also a master gardener and took great pleasure in building and maintaining his koi pond.
In addition to his wife, Michele, Greg will be sadly missed by his children, Lauren Esposito, and Paul G. LiCalzi (Victoria); his grandchildren, Trevor LiCalzi and Krista Russo (Luke); and his great-grandchildren, Luke and Gregory Russo. He is also survived by his brother, Michael LiCalzi, and his extended family.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Friday, January 17, 2025, between the hours of 3:00 – 6:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 18th, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church in Brookfield. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY, will take place in the spring.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/give.html.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have memories of your dad from way back when I was a little girl and would go up to Candlewood Lake to visit the DeDivitises. Of course, we also lived in the same town, but my memories of him were from up at the lake mostly. I just remember him being such a kind person.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
