Gregory A. Nimmo

Gregory Nimmo, 75, of Fairport Harbor, passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, at Concord Ridge Health and Rehab in Mentor.
Born May 25, 1949, in Marion, Oh., Gregory was a Lake County resident for 30 years, living in Mentor before moving to Fairport Harbor 6 years ago.
Gregory retired form Caraustar after 30 years, then went to work for Steris for the last 8 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Gregory was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and was a member of the Eagles in Mentor. He attended Mentor Plains United Methodist Church. Gregory enjoyed poker, checkers and golf. He was an avid bowler and traveler and loved to camp.
He was the beloved husband of Lenora L. (nee Shaffer) Nimmo; loving father of Allen Nimmo, Andrew Nimmo and Carrie Pickett; cherished grandfather of 14; great-grandfather of 8; brother of Laurel Green, Dale Nimmo, Bobby Jo Powell, Glenn Nimmo and Jackie Johnson; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and JoAnn (nee Mead) Nimmo; grandfather, Leonard Mead; and brother, Bruce Nimmo.
Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Rt. 615, N. of Rt. 2), Mentor. Funeral Service will take place 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Stol from Mentor Plains United Methodist Church to officiate. Burial to follow at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland.
