Gregory A. Phalen

Gregory A. Phalen, 71, of Ballston Spa, New York, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024. He was born in Cortland, New York on August 4, 1952, to Shirley and Edward Phalen. He attended Homer High School until he enlisted in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. Following his service in the Marines, Gregory spent many years working as a machinist until he retired from Meridian Manufacturing in Ballston Spa in 2022.
Gregory's greatest joy was spending time with his family. He enjoyed the outdoors and going on road trips. He was an avid reader, a true animal lover, had a passion for vintage cars and Harley's, enjoyed watching football and finding adventure in everything he did. He always carried a contagious sense of humor and was a positive light in many lives.
Gregory is survived by his daughters Sherri Favata (Ira) and Jessica Phalen (Eric); his grandchildren Gabriella, Cameron and Madison Favata, Lilliana Phalen and Wyatt Southard; his sisters Carolyn Starks (Joseph), Sandra McCraig and Brenda Pavolini; former spouse Michele Phalen, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Gregory was predeceased by his parents Shirley and Edward Phalen and his sister Dale Bryant.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 4:45pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A service will follow at 4:45 pm. Memorial contributions in memory of Gregory may be made to Gateway House of Peace, 479 Rowland Street, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
