Gregory Ratliff Obituary Gregory Ratliff, age 61, passed away February 22, 2025, at the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, surrounded by his loving family. His death follows an extended and courageous battle with cancer.
Greg was born May 12, 1963, in Fort Knox, Kentucky, to Russell and Clara 'Sue' (Skeens) Ratliff, he had been a Shelby resident for the majority of his life. A 1981 graduate of Shelby High School, he went on to marry the love of his life, Deanna (Deaner) Ratliff, on October 28, 1989. He was a machinist by trade most recently working at Pentair in Ashland, OH. Greg was a family man through and through. There was nothing in this world that he enjoyed more than spending quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. For hobbies, he enjoyed fishing when he could and tinkering with computers. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna (Deaner) Ratliff, three sons, Dustin (Kaitlin) Ratliff of Shelby, Derek (Breanna) Ratliff of Mansfield, OH, and Dylan Ratliff of Willard, OH; nine grandchildren, Adylynn, Anbrielle, Amiya, Avery, Juniper, Elvaleigh, Rocco, Jaden, and Camdyn; his father, Russell (Lori) Ratliff of Kingston, OH; six siblings, John (Sheryl) Ratliff of Mt. Gilead, OH, Jeff Ratliff of Mansfield, Michael Ratliff of Mansfield, Terrie (Merle) Smith of Shelby, Rebekah Ratliff of Beaver, OH and Jessica (Joe) Compher of Kingston, OH; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Dave Deaner.
Friends may visit the family at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby, Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00 PM with Reverend Doug Tackett officiating.
