We celebrate the life of Gregory Alan Reed, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and committed professional, who passed away on February 27, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on July 19, 1953, in Rockville, MD, Greg was a resident of Simpsonville, SC, where his vibrant spirit and warm heart touched everyone he met.

Greg earned his Bachelor's Degree from Clemson University, where he developed a lifelong passion for the Tigers and an enthusiasm for the great outdoors. As a proud U.S. Army Veteran, he carried a sense of duty and dedication that he applied throughout his life. He had a distinguished career as the Director of Risk Management with the Greenville Hospital System, where his keen insights and expertise made a lasting impact on the healthcare community.

In addition to his professional successes, Greg was a loving family man. He found immense joy in being a father to Caleb and Matt Reed, and a cherished grandfather to his granddaughter, Josephine Reed. He had a deep love for hunting and fishing, relishing the time spent outdoors, which he often shared with his family and friends.

Greg is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Joan Reed; his sons, Matt Reed (Amy), Caleb Reed (Brittany), his brothers, Phil Reed and Perry Reed (Tracy), and his granddaughter, Josephine. He was a guiding light in their lives, known for his unwavering support and affection.

Although no memorial service is planned, friends may make contributions in Greg's memory to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
