Gregory Evan Richard, 67, of Moss Bluff, Louisiana was called home at 6:00 PM on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Christus Oschner St. Patrick Hospital. He was born April 27, 1957 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was one of four children born to the late Eugene Richard, and Carolyn Richard of Moss Bluff, LA.
Greg was an Operator for CITGO Petroleum Corporation, retiring after 30+ years of service.
As a lifelong outdoorsman, Greg spent many years hunting and fishing across Southwest Louisiana with family and friends, especially with his best friend Frank Simon. He also loved gardening, and was an excellent mechanic who was relied on by many when they had a problem with anything that had an engine.
A devoted grandparent, Greg had a close relationship with all of his grandchildren, often speaking to them daily and being a great mentor to them.
Greg is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Sandra Richard of Moss Bluff, LA; his son, Kevin Beutnagel (wife Lisa) of Krum, Texas; his five grandchildren, Jacob Beutnagel (wife Kirra) of Temecula, CA, Kelly Beutnagel (wife Kristin) of Krum, TX, Lindsay Beutnagel of Krum, Texas, Janey Beutnagel of Mabank, TX, and Kameron Beutnagel "Kamo" of Coronado, CA; and one great-grandchild, Evelyn Mae Beutnagel of Krum, Texas; his mother, Carolyn Richard of Moss Bluff, LA; and his siblings, Susan Richard, Lisa Smith and Doug Richard; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his father Eugene Richard of Moss Bluff, Louisiana.
Greg will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him. He was a one-of-a-kind person who was selfless and genuine and he'll never be forgotten.
A private celebration of his life will be held at his residence with family and friends at a date to be announced.
