Obituary of Gregory Allen Smock
Gregory Allen Smock was born on May 10, 1955, at Queens of Angels Hospital in Los Angeles, California, to his parents, Gerrard Smock, a Pullman porter, and his mother, Bertha Smock, a caregiver.
Greg attended Avalon Gardens Elementary School. He received his first motorcycle at the age of 14, marking the beginning of his passion for riding. He attended Gardena High School in California, but due to his eagerness to join the Marines, he accelerated his education and earned a GED to be eligible for enlistment.
Greg was honored to serve his county as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps from 1974 – 1980. During his time in service, Greg worked as a supply truck driver. Following his time in the service, he met the love of his life, Susan Smock, in 1983. Within months of their meeting, they eloped to Las Vegas, where they were married on November 19, 1983.
In 1985, Greg and Susan purchased their home together in Garden Grove, California. During their time there, Greg proudly served as a Funeral Escort in California for over 10 years. He had the honor of conducting funerals for celebrities such as the late rapper Eazy-E of the rap group NWA.
They later moved to the state of Colorado in 1995, where Greg worked for Public Works and continued to serve in his nature as an EMT for the town of Cedaredge, Colorado. His love for motorcycles led to his involvement in the Iron Eagles MC and Hells Lover MC, where he would become known as "The Undertaker". Greg had various jobs along his journey after finally reaching retirement in 2008. In 2012, Greg and Sue parted ways, and Greg continued to enjoy his motorcycle rides and admiration for the beautiful state of Colorado.
Greg was called home on May 30, 2025, due to health issues related to his diabetes. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerrard and Bertha Smock, and sister, Lynette Bennett. He is survived by his former wife Susan "Sue" Smock; Sisters Lizbeth "Bunny" Smock and Cheryl Tate; Niece and nephews Christanne Fuston, Chanel Harris, Patrick Johnson, and Isaiah Tate; Great-Nephew Mark Cooper, Jr. and Great-Niece Kailyn Mouton.
