Funeral service for Gregory Lashown Thompson, 48, of Piedmont will be Monday, August 04, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Reverend Quinton Hughley, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from noon until time of the service. Gregory passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 at his home. Gregory was a lifelong resident of Piedmont and a 1995 graduate of Piedmont High School. He attended St. Luke FBH Church. He enjoyed being around family and friends and loved making you laugh. He enjoyed singing and dancing and was always fun to be around. He loved his kids with all his heart. He was active in his community and was there to lend a helping hand when needed. Gregory was preceded in death by his grandparents, Shirley and Willie Earl Ellis, Johnny Ray Weaver and Henry and Ora J. McDonald. Left to cherish his memory is his mother and father, Carolyn and Ray McDonald; children, oldest daughter which resides in Virginia, Tobin Thompson (Kaleenah), Tatum Thompson, Marquise Brazier, Draylon Davis, Tinsley Thompson, Trinty Hulsey and Devantae Smart. Grandchildren, Paizlee Thompson, Meilah Lowlery, Amari Thompson, Penelope Thompson, Jayden Brazier, Zaylon Davis, Draylon Davis, Jr, and Zalayah Davis ; one sister, Terrezia Jones (Shawn); three brothers, Roderick Thompson (Billie Jean), Cortney Thompson (Jennifer) and Brandon Thompson (Amanda); special auntie, Julia Thompson, special uncle, George Ammons; special friends, Jana Diffee, Malissa Collier, Tiffany Brazier and Sylvester Spears; and several other aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
