Published by Legacy on Feb. 13, 2026.
Gregory Paul Upperman "Uppie", age 69 of Canton, beloved brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 10, 2026. He was born in Canton, Ohio on January 15, 1957 to the late Doris *Hehr) and Donald Upperman.

In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by his sister, Jackie.

He is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Gayle Gianni of Canonsburg, PA., Ronald (Nancy) Upperman of Canton, Scott (Pam) Upperman of Louisville, Cindy (Jim) Rarric of Louisville, Claudia (Keith) Breedlove of Louisville and Linnea (Jeff) Musser of Massillon, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He also survived by longtime, devoted friend, Laura Ventresca. The family is truly grateful for the loving care and support she provided for Greg and our family.

Greg graduated from Louisville High School in 1975. Early careers in the food industry took Greg from working in a grocery store that led to a career as a food broker and eventually to a position with Fleming Foods as a store merchandiser. After retiring from Fleming Foods, Greg worked for years as an STNA at St. Joseph Care Center and will be long remembered for the kindness and gentle care he provided to the elderly residents there. In recent years, he continued to work as a caregiver at Albright Living.,

Greg's true joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. He loved sports and the many lifelong friendships made through years of participating in community volleyball and softball leagues. In early years, he was also active as a youth coach for the Little Leopard football program. The ultimate sports fan, Greg spent countless hours listening to and watching TV supporting his beloved Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians, Ohio State Buckeyes and the Louisville Leopards.

A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
