Gregory "Gregg" Cooper Webb, 79, of Tollesboro, Kentucky, died at his home on July 26, 2025.
Gregg was born at home on June 24, 1946 to Roland Burns Webb and Olive Maude Cooper Webb. He was particularly close to his mother and missed her deeply after losing her in his early 20s. Gregg lived the entirety of his life on the family farm in Tollesboro.
He graduated from Tollesboro High School in 1964. A lifelong learner, he enjoyed stopping at museums and historical sites across the country on family camping trips in the 1980s and 90s. He loved world news and history, especially anything to do with World War II, and had a deep appreciation for proper grammar. He would eat anything, but particularly loved beans, cornbread, homegrown tomatoes, biscuits, cinnamon pie, and angel food cake.
He lived his life with a passion for farming and conservation. For ten years he operated his own trucking company, but that was always secondary to his love of farming. He served on the Lewis County Conservation Board for 31 years. He was a member of the Lewis County Extension Council for over 32 years and was currently serving as Chairman.
In 1973, Gregg married Pamela Knox Webb, a native Texan and Registered Dietitian, who decided to stay in Kentucky for love, and who remained a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother until her death in 2015.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his six older siblings: Hazel Kelley, John Webb, Janet Watkins, Nina Gay Webb, Ronnie Webb, and Larry Webb.
He is survived by his three daughters, Rebecca (Sean) Jackson, Amy (Eric) Lewis, and Katherine (Obie) Williams, and his eight grandchildren, who filled his heart with happiness and pride in his remaining years, Samantha White, Annabel Jackson, Olivia Jackson, Sydney Lewis, Sawyer Lewis, Sadie Lewis, Alden Williams, and Avery Williams.
He will be deeply missed by his close friends, Bill and Dorinda Leet, as well as by his amazing community of friends and neighbors who went above and beyond to help him over the years.
The visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Tollesboro Funeral Home. A private family graveside burial will follow at the Maysville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Lewis County Cattleman's Association for the Philip Konopka scholarship fund by mailing a check to the Lewis County Extension Office, 284 Second Street, Vanceburg, Ky 41179.
