Guadalupe Alvarez Obituary

Guadalupe Alvarez, affectionately known as “Lupe,” was born on February 19, 1940, in San Jose De La Paz, Jalisco, Mexico, to Isabel León Oñate and Manuel Alvarez Zavala. He passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, in Tepatitlán de Morelos, Jalisco, Mexico, surrounded by his loving family.

Guadalupe was a devoted husband to Consuelo Tomasa Alvarez, who preceded him in death in 1999, and later to Irene De La Losa. He was a proud father of Gabriel (Shannon) , Leonardo (Mariaelena), and Yolanda (Ted) Latavong. His legacy continued through his cherished grandchildren: Sean, Rafael, Eric, Krystal, Noah, Ella, and Vivian.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Ismael, Pablo, Ignacio, Jose, and David is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Guadalupe lived a full and adventurous life, spending his years between Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Tepatitlán, Jalisco. After immigrating to the United States as a young man, he became a proud U.S. citizen and worked tirelessly to provide a better future for his family. He dedicated his career to Bucyrus-Erie and Advance Die Casting, often working two jobs to ensure his children could receive a quality education. Guadalupe was a storyteller, a handyman, and a true host at heart. He loved grilling for family and friends.

Late in life, he delighted in spoiling his grandchildren—teaching them little traditions like salting watermelon—and continued to share his curiosity and zest for life with those around him.

Guadalupe’s legacy is one of perseverance, generosity, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral Home (8901 W. Drexel Ave, Franklin, WI) on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 2 PM to 6 PM, with a funeral service at 5 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery (7301 West Nash Street, Milwaukee, WI) on Monday, August 4 at 10 AM, please meet at the cemetery office.
