Guadalupe R. Lugo

Guadalupe R Lugo, a beloved member of the Corpus Christi community, was born on October 14, 1950, and passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, in the same city he cherished as his home. A warm soul known for his unwavering spirit and kindness, Guadalupe’s life was a testament to love and devotion to his family and friends.

Guadalupe is survived by his loving wife, Maria Lugo; sister, Victoria Nieto; and children, Nelly Ann Lugo, Richard Lugo (Viviana), and Mario Lugo. Guadalupe leaves behind a legacy of love in his grandchildren, Eric Jasso, Juan Jasso, Jasmine Jasso, José Jasso, Albert Fuentes, Mario Lugo Jr, Josefine Lugo, Heaven Lugo, Maricela Lugo, Samantha Lugo, Jackie Lugo, RJ Lugo, Clarissa Lugo, and two great-grandchildren.

Guadalupe’s passions were diverse, including his love for music and enjoying family barbecues. He found pleasure in playing loteria, cards, dominoes, and crosswords puzzles, but most of all he loved to cook and clean, which brought joy and comfort to his life.

Guadalupe was preceded in death by his cherished parents, Jose Lugo and Josefine R Lugo, and his siblings, Joe Lugo, Juan Lugo, Cruz Lugo, Carlos Lugo, Estella McGraw, Mónica González, Paula Tapia, and Gloria Lugo. These losses have shaped the family’s bond, deepening their connections and honoring the legacy that Guadalupe created throughout his life.

Guadalupe's family will receive condolences on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave.,  from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM; with recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM that evening. Services will conclude that evening.
