Guadalupe G. Perez, known to everyone as grandma, was called home on Monday, July 22, 2024 in San Diego surrounded by her loving family at the age of 84. She was born in San Diego, Texas on February 18, 1940 to her parents Cruz Aguayo and Julia Garza. Guadalupe was a loving and dedicated mother who devoted her life to raising her beloved children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her pets, doing crossword puzzles, watching lifetime movies, cooking her favorite meal menudo and her specialty was her Thanksgiving stuffing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years of marriage, Cornado B. Perez Sr.; her parents, Cruz Aguayo and Julia Garza; three sons, Tomas Perez, Ricardo Perez and Jose E. Perez.
Guadalupe is survived by her three sons, Roberto (Leila) Perez, Rolando (Adriana) Perez, Corando Perez Jr.; three daughters, Julie Saenz, Anna Lisa (Rudy) Sanchez, raised as a daughter, Monica (Leonel) Salinas; two brothers, Faustino (Rosa) Soliz and Jose Corona; two sisters, Olga (Arturo) Alaniz and Gloria Bear; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024, at St. Francis De Paula in San Diego, Texas. Interment will follow at San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas.
