Chita was born on January 9, 1943, to Steve and Guadalupe Raymond. He grew up with
one older brother, 6 younger sisters, and one younger brother. He found the love of his life, and
married Irma Perez on April 16, 1966. From this marriage came three boys, Mike, Eddie, and
Bobby. In his early adult years, he worked as a farmer. A er that he pursued a long career at
Excel (Cargill) in Friona TX, where he re red from a er 30 years. In his spare me, he would
travel with a church band, Exodus, that was made up of his brothers, brother-in-law, nephews,
and one of his sons. While they would travel, he was the driver, and he seemed to have a real
talent for driving and sleeping with his eyes open. Chita loved to play the guitar and
occasionally he would sing as well. He also loved to hunt and fish in his spare me. He was,
always out trying to catch that mermaid and bring it home to show all of us. Unfortunately, he
never caught that mermaid. Chita was a beloved husband and father and grandfather, and was,
a man of few words, unless he was talking about work. Even though he wouldn't say much, we
all felt the love that he had for his family and would give the shirt off his back if he needed too.
Above all, Chita treasured and loved the Lord, his family, and his friends.
Chita is proceeded in death by his parents, Steve and Guadalupe Raymond, and his lovely wife,
of 50 years Irma Raymond.
Chita is survived by his siblings, Fred (Minnie), Janie, Hope, Mary Lou, Mary, Margie, Steve
(Sylvia), and Nora (Bert); his 3 children, Michael, Eddie (Rebecca), and Bobby (Ashley); 7
grandchildren; Dustin (Melanie), Heather (Tim), Jon, Amariah (Jhezzler), Hannah, Rylee, and
Isabella; and 5 great grandchildren; and numerous of nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held at 2pm on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Saving Grace Church in
