Guillermo Cantu Jr. died peacefully May 7, 2024. His wife and children were able to send him with love on his journey home. He was born December 17, 1941, and was 82 years old.
Guillermo (Memo/Bill) was an incredible baseball player and pitcher; he received a scholarship to attend St. Edward's University. He not only received a bachelor's degree but also an MBA (1979) from St. Edward's University.
He is a United States Veteran and was in the United States Airforce. He lived in Corpus, Austin and San Antonio and loved his family and friends in Laredo. He spent many years in the oil and gas business, but also in car sales. He enjoyed watching sports, especially his Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs. He always sent holiday cards to those he loved reminding them of how much they meant to him. He will be missed.
Memo/Bill is preceded in death by his son Michael Anthony Cantu, his parents, Guillermo Cantu, Guadalupe Cantu, his brothers, Antonio Cantu, Ernesto Cantu, Daniel Javier Cantu, Fernando Cantu, Raul Cantu, and his sister, Alicia Martinez.
Memo/Bill is loved and will be missed by his wife Beatriz Cantu, children Melinda Cantu (Pepe Lozano), Melissa Craig (Michael Drake) Tania Stockbridge (Matthew Stockbridge) and Rene Trejo, brother Mario Alberto Cantu, grandchildren Aiyana Cantu, Joaquin Lozano, Javier Lozano, Marcus Craig and Matthew Craig.
His many nephews and nieces and extended family and friends in San Antonio and Laredo will miss him as well.
