Kasey Cantu, born September 3, 1996, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025 following a brief illness.
Kasey, daughter of Emilio and Terry Cantu, is survived by her sister, Jaime (Jon Miller-Becks) and her nephews, Jaxen and Lyncoln, all of Stratford, WI. Also survived by her brother Kevin, of Green Bay.
Kasey leaves behind her 3 children, whom she loved and cherished tremendously. Jalena, Fernando and Emiliano. It was evident on her social media pages that they were her life. Jalena, lil’ Fernando and Emiliano were her favorite targets for her camera!
Kasey was life of every event. If Kasey was there it was sure to be a good time! She was the light in any room. If you are lucky enough to have met Kasey, you made yourself a true and loyal friend. She will be missed so very much, by a great many.
Kasey had a natural instinct and a passion for caring for others and gravitated toward the older generation. She worked in various long term care facilities and assisted living facilities as well. She worked for a spell helping her close friend Michael Bacon with home improvement projects, of which Mike taught her many skills in carpentry. She would tackle any chore with her all and loved to learn new skills and techniques. She was always available if you needed a hand with anything, anytime or anywhere. And if you just wanted someone to ride shot-gun, just say the word and she was now your travel buddy.
She was able to travel and see many things because she could not sit idle, though she always returned home to be with her family. Kasey was also one of the GB Packers biggest fans. She loved to get her in her green and gold gear and cheer on her team.
Kasey also leaves behind her Paternal Grandmother, Ruth Garza, and Maternal Grandmother, Carol Burkel. She will be deeply missed by friends Nicole Peters, Joshua Lemerand, Mike Bacon, and Samantha Hanna… as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Kasey is preceded in death by her Maternal Grandfather, Jerry Burkel, baby girl Miller-Becks and cousin Carlos Cantu.
Kaseys family would like to extend our gratitude to all of you that were there for us during this difficult journey. It never went unnoticed and we will forever be thankful.
A huge thank you also to the St. Vincent Flight for Life staff, and at the end, the staff at St. Vincent's 4th IMCU and 6th floor IMCU. Held our hand, and assisted us when we needed it the most. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You will have a special place in this mommas heart.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to assist with the final arrangements.
The family will not be having a service but there will be a celebration of her life for everyone in the future. The date, place and time to be determined.
