Gunter F. Wolters, 77, of Toms River and formerly of Union, NJ passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Gunter was born November 8, 1947 in Ingenheim, Germany and moved to the United States when he was 7 years old. His family settled in Union. He attended Union schools and graduated Union High School Class of 1966.

In his early years Gunter helped his parents in their bakery, Martin's Pastry Shop on Stuyvesant Avenue in Irvington. After high school he pursued his career as a mold maker and on Valentines Day 1970 married Susan Rush, his high school sweetheart. He served his country proudly in the US Army in Vietnam and after his service returned home to Union with Susan to raise their 2 daughters. He continued in his trade and started Viking Tool and Mold which he owned until his retirement. Gun, as he was known to his friends and family, was active in the Elks Lodge of Hillside, loved building and flying remote control airplanes, and took every opportunity he could to "cruise" in his sports cars. His ultimate joy in life, however, came from time with his family – there is nothing he cherished more. Gun and Sue relocated to Toms River in 2014 to enjoy their retirement. He lived his life to the fullest and would frequently say he had literally no regrets.

Gunter was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Susan. He leaves behind their two daughters Tiffany Nagar and her husband Scott and Janette Jankowski and her husband Mark, and 3 grandchildren Jessica Nagar and Blake and Cole Jankowski.

Family services celebrating his life will be private.

Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity they both cared for deeply.
