Gussie Larene Drury Roddenberry Crews, 74, of Folkston, GA passed away June 12, 2024 in Jacksonville, FL following a lengthy illness. She was born February 3, 1950 in Hoboken, GA to the late William Arnold Drury and Ruby Lavon Thornton Drury. She was a homemaker and a very good cook. She loved working in her flower garden. But most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren great grandchildren and her brothers and sisters.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: Clayton Milton “Babe” Roddenberry; her son: Bill “Big Daddy” Roddenberry; 2-brothers: Milton Drury and Herbert Drury; a sister: Macie Todd; an extra special brother-in-law: Jack Roddenberry.
She is survived by her husband: Larry Crews; 2-sons: Buck (Debra) Roddenberry and J.W. (Glenda) Roddenberry; her grandchildren: Lauren Farmer, Maggie (Michael) Austin, Olivia (Harrison St. Peter) Roddenberry, Harley Roddenberry, James (Mindy) Roddenberry and Nicki Davis; 10-great grandchildren: Hallie Woodward, Maylee Farmer, Marley Farmer, Landry Steedley, Sawyer Steedley, J.J. (Britnie) Roddenberry, Lane Roddenberry, Jace Roddenberry, Leelan Roddenberry and Kaylee Davis; 2-sisters: Dorothy Roddenberry and Mildred Crews; 3-brothers: Richard (Brenda) Drury, Reavis (Judy) Drury and Steve (Kay) Drury and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 15 at noon at Philadelphia Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Ray McMillan officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery.
