He is preceded in death by his parents, son Charles Hanks, four brothers and one sister.
Guy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Hanks, their eight children: Alvin Hanks, Lois Lunn, Terri Raymond, Shelley Hanks-Hokari, Linda Smiley, Guy Hanks Jr., Robin Larosa and Julie Rae, twenty-three grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his three sisters Nancy Vollman, Irene Holder, and Judy Parker, two sisters-in-law Doris Hanks and Jean Hanks, his brother-in-law Charles Parker and two special friends, Paul Turner and Roland Perry.
Guy loved gardening, mowing his lawn and spent many days golfing at the Mars Hill Country Club.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, June 27th at 2:00 PM at the Kings Grove Cemetery in Mars Hill, Maine, with the Rev. Mark Carter officiating. Arrangements in care of Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill, ME 04758
