Guy E. Maddox, 88, of Kingdom City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 2nd, 2025.
Born on April 9, 1937, in Steedman, Missouri, he was the son of the late Ed and Rena Maddox. On May 31, 1959, he married the love of his life, Karen (Loutzenhiser) Maddox, with whom he shared a devoted and loving marriage, and she survives his passing.
Guy was a proud veteran of the US Army and then dedicated over 30 years to the University of Missouri. Outside of work, he had a deep love for the land and found joy in Angus cattle, spending countless hours tending to his animals and gardens with care and pride. Auctions were a favorite pastime – always on the lookout for a good deal or a unique antique to add to his growing collection. His appreciation for history showed in every carefully chosen piece. A true animal lover, he was rarely without a dog or cat at his side or livestock nearby. But above all, he cherished time with his family that were the light of his life, and he never missed a chance to support them, share a laugh, or pass along a story. His legacy lives on in the values he nurtured and the love he gave so freely.
Guy will be remembered as a devoted husband, loyal friend, proud veteran and for his love of cattle. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Along with his wife, Guy is survived by his children Jeff Maddox (Brenda), Becky Diehl; grandchildren, Kristina Kuska (Casey), Dustin Maddox, Jonathan Diehl, Madison Huber (Chase); along with two great grandchildren Carolina and Kinley.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
