Gwen Dupuis Obituary
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Gwen Dupuis, 72, who passed away November 21, 2025 at her residence. Pastor Chris Fuselier of First Baptist Church of Youngsville will conduct the funeral services. Karen Broussard, musician and vocalist, will perform "It Is Well With My Soul," "Nearer My God To Thee," "Beyond The Sunset," and "There You'll Be." Interment will follow the service in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include her two daughters, Heather Lynn Fore of Washington, LA and Amanda Michelle Sisk (Jamie) of Montgomery, TX; one son, Michael E. Pool, Jr. (Kathleen Heintz) of Colorado Springs, CO; step-daughter, Rachel Dupuis Perret (Ryan) of Santa Rosa, FL; companion Clarence West of Carencro; two sisters, Brenda Domingue (Donald) and Romona Lajaunie, both of Scott, LA; niece, Cassie Brook Bidstrup (Brent); five grandchildren, Sean Riley Fore, Aaron Marshall Fore, Abigail Elise Sisk, Greyson James Sisk and William Reilly Pool and two step-grandchildren, Lillian Parker Perret and Rex Miles Perret.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Lennie Mae Prather Daley; two husbands, Dennison Joseph Allemand and Darrell John Dupuis; brother-in-law, John Lajaunie and nephew, Joshua Troy Lajaunie.
She lived in Carencro and graduated from Carencro High School in 1971. For many years, she worked at Sam's Club in Lafayette, where she held many positions, but particularly as a Pharmacy Technician in the club pharmacy. She formed close bonds with her coworkers, many of whom she regarded as friends. Her love for gardening was evident in her pristine yard, where she grew flowers and vegetables to share with others. She also had a passion for travel, enjoying a memorable month-long RV trip to the Grand Canyon, Grand Tetons, and Crater Lake, along with fishing adventures in Canada and time spent in Brazil.
Pallbearers will be Donald Domingue, Michael E. Pool, Jr., Sean Riley Fore, Aaron Marshall Fore, Jamie Sisk, Brent Bidstrup and Kade Bidstrup. Honorary pallbearers include Matthew Fore and Lane West.
The family requests that visitation be held Tuesday between the hours of 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.
