Gwen achieved her heavenly reward September 13, 2025 with family at her side at Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Born in Chevrolet, KY on October 27, 1934 to the Reverand Albert and Tressie (Moses) Siler. Her faith and family were the two most important things in her life. Gwen accepted Jesus Christ as her savior when she was 8 years old and never waivered from her faith in 82 years. An active member of the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God, Gwen taught Sunday school for over 60 years right up until the end. She always said the young people she taught kept her young and the number of young people she influenced is hard to estimate. She epitomized the rules for a good life of JOY: Jesus, Others, and then Yourself. Always ready to help anyone, she took Joy in providing for others in the form of many things from money to clothes to toys for the youngsters.

Gwen loved to garden and her green thumb with flowers was well known. Sometimes when I would go over to her house and see her with a mattock grubbing away I would ask her to let me do that. Her reply was always "Leave me alone, I enjoy doing this myself."

Gwen was widely know throughout the community. She was the first female bus driver in McCreary County and many adults tell stories of how she looked after "her" kids on the bus. To the point that a recent person said his mother remembers falling asleep on her bus and she carried her off and gave her to the child's mother.

As a bookkeeper for Associates in Eyecare, Gwen kept the books as that business grew from a single office to a wide regional business. She was one of the first virtual office workers after Bob began needing her more at home.

Gwen sold Avon for a good many years. She would take orders and deliver to her customers more to just talk with people and share her faith than to make money.

She was driving right up until the end and my sister and I always said you had better make an appointment to go see her or she may not be at home. Her Goodwill shopping trips were another of her joys. The $0.99 Sundays were her specialty. She would scrounge the store and if she saw something that "someone" might be able to use she would buy it. Again, many are the people who she supplied items in times of their needs. It was a joke throughout our family and others that before you bought something better ask Gwen!

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband Robert R, (Bob) Trammell. Survivors include her son Robert Kenton (Kenny) Trammell and wife Debbie (Kidd) and a daughter Sharon (Baird) and husband Jeff. Grandchildren include Mykel Baird and wife Julie, Rusty Barid and wife Jaime, and Siler Trammell. Greatgrandchildren include Alayna Baird, Carys Baird, and Ruger Baird and a special little one Sweet Adeline Stephens.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God. Burial will follow in the T. Chitwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12:00 pm at the church.
