Gwendolyn Sue (Lugar) Hilliker, 80, passed away June 17, 2025.
Sue was born and raised in Mooresville, Indiana to Sam and Mary (Howe) Lugar. She married Tom Hilliker in 1966 and moved to Pendleton, raising her own family there before making a final move to Noblesville after her children had grown and there were grandchildren to be spoiled. One of her biggest joys in life was cheering on her family at sporting and performing events. She also enjoyed serving her church and neighborhood organizations, and is remembered by many for sharing her musical talents in the chancel choir and also directing the JOY, kids, and bell choirs throughout the years.
Many will also remember her loves for cardinals and hummingbirds, along with Hawaiian beaches and the cruise vacations she shared with Tom.
Sue is survived by her husband of nearly 59 years, Tom Hilliker, children, Paula R. Lord of Carmel and Jeffrey T. (Kate) Hilliker of Zionsville; grandchildren, Mia Lord and Charlie and Henry Hilliker; sister, Clara Lugar of Camby; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Maryann and Patricia.
A visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. with a Celebration of her life service at 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at First United Methodist Church, 225 W. State St., Pendleton, Indiana 46064.
