Jack V. Herr

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack V. Herr, 89, of Anderson, Indiana, who passed away on November 18, 2025, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus. Born on March 19, 1936, in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Ralph Paul Herr, Sr. and Ruth Anna (Mansfield) Herr.

Jack graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, and he took great pride in his work at Guide Lamp, where he maintained the facilities and machines with unmatched dedication. He was especially proud of earning his professional engineering license. Beyond his engineering career, Jack was a talented trumpet player, performing trumpet solos on the radio in Kokomo at the age of 10. His love for music went even further as he was a member of the Alexandria Community Band for 15 years.

Jack is survived by his children, Michelle (Wayne Bruzzese) Herr and Scott (Ewa Kalinowska) Herr; siblings, Janice Unzicker, Ralph P. Herr, Jr., and Dale (Cathy) Herr; grandchildren, Ross Underwood, Leigha Underwood, Carter Hall, Jack Hall, and Zofia Kalinowska Herr.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Jonathan Ice.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral at 12:00 p.m. at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory - Lahm Chapel, 211 East State Street, Pendleton, Indiana. Burial services will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery after the funeral.
